amnam park, busan: water splashing on the rocks, fisheye cameraThis park located at the southern tip of one of Busan’s western peninsulas makes for a great afternoon hike. It has rocks good for climbing (if you’re hardcore enough for that kind of thing) and cliffs affording great views of part of the Nampo area as well as Yeong-do. There are beautiful rock formations that are great for (drinking) picnics as well. Be careful, though… the rocks that are wet are a lil slippery (sadly, I had to walk around for the rest of the day with a wet foot). You can do the hike for an hour-and-a-half or so, but there are enough trails to keep you busy for at least 3 or four hours. It’s only a 20 minute bus ride from Jagalchi, just past Songdo Beach.

Directions: From Jagalchi (metro exit 2), take bus 9-1, 9, 71 or 7, in the southern direction. I forget what stop it is, but you should be able to see the entrance and a big forest. It’s hard to miss.

  1. I just went there because of this guide. It was great! The subway stop was 암남공원 or Amnam Gongwon. Anyways it was pretty easy to spot.
