Raybee is an affordable-yet-classy boutique/cafe in Kyungsung.
Being a fashion-conscious couple usually means that we spend (at least) a hundred thousand won or so per month on clothes and accessories. Now that my fiancé, Šárka, has found Raybee, – well, it STILL means that we spend the same – but now we can buy a whole lot more for the same price (or at least my fiancé can – Raybee is a women’s clothing only shop)!
The selection is good and the quality is better than the underground markets of Seomyeon or Nampo. Another thing that I really appreciated was that they didn’t shadow us around the shop constantly. I also took stock of the prices as Šárka shopped around:
You can also get some coffee if you don’t feel like shopping. There’s a small cafe area with tables and (Korean) reading materials, but I’ve yet to see anyone utilize it… but then again, I’m usually in there right before they close. Peeking behind the counter, I noticed that the coffee is instant in nature, so don’t expect much. However, it’s cheap (1000)!
Overall Experience: 5/5
Directions: Kyungsung subway exit 5. Turn left, walk down 3 blocks and turn right at the SHOW phone shop. Raybee is on a street with other boutiques. It’s about mid-way down the street on the right, in the basement under the Painted Chair Cafe.
